Zenair CH-701 N701ST
N701ST was built by three gentlemen in upstate New York. Completed on wheels in 1994, it was set atop Zenair 950 amphibious floats when there were comlpeted in 1997.
N701ST is likely the most visible individually owned CH-701's having appeared in various publications including EAA Experimenter and having attended EAA Oshkosh many times over its 800hrs of flying time.
N701ST was sold to the Zetterlind family in 2001 and has continued to fly at least 100 hours per year since. Flying qualities and performance for N701ST were described in the November/December 2003 Water Flying Magazine.
Built with an early 80HP Rotax 912A engine, N701ST was upgraded to a new 100HP Rotax 912ULS in late 2004. We will be adding an article about the engine change and new performance here soon. As this site grows, look for additional photos, video, and articles about our adventures with this wonderful airplane.
